The Sixteenth Annual Institutional Diversity Conference: The Danger of The Single Story
PURPOSE
• To raise timely questions that will engage our campus and
community in critical discussions about diversity and inclusion.
• To focus on issues that impact a student’s ability to achieve
academically and socially, both in and out of the campus setting.
• To provide an opportunity for campus and community members to
share ideas in a cooperative atmosphere.
• To establish a supportive network of students, faculty, staff,
administrators and community members committed to engaging
in dialogs on the local, national and international stage.
• To empower participants to speak out or take action on campus and
in the community.
• To increase inclusion, collaboration and continue to develop an
appreciation of and for diversity.
• To partner with existing organizations to maximize resources
and services.
